SAMPLES OF REVERSE ENGINEERING
We can start with a drawing or an obsolete part.
Here we started with a tracing of an obsolete transmission part which we received tin the mail. We redrew it in Auto CAD, added cut paths, then deleted the original image and Auto CAD drawing. Next the cut path was down loaded to the CNC plasma computer and we were able to reproduce the part in 3/16 steel to exacting specifications..
Original paper drawing Redrawn in CAD Cut paths added Cut path only New metal part 3/16 steel
Here we started with an old obsolete car part. We scanned this image into Auto CAD then traced the image to generate cut paths and re-produce the exact part. Subtle changes were made to the original part to update the design and make it more versatile.

Here we started with a broken original equipment part. We reverse engineered the item and made it from thicker material this time around. This is a 1993 GMC 1500 hand brake bracket.
